This is so much fun! It started as one simple list and now it keeps expanding to new titles and uploads. Today I offer you Rhode Island DJ Songs of Home. Rhode Island DJ Songs of Home are songs that have “Home” in the tittle. Like the other collections, I am not including Christmas songs in this collection. This collection joins Rhode Island DJ Songs of Joy, Rhode Island DJ Songs of Peace and Rhode Island DJ Songs of Thanks. Who knows where it will stop?
Rhode Island DJ Songs of Home
“Home” is a song written and recorded by American group Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. It was released in January 2010 as the second single from the album, Up from Below. The song came in at number 73 on Australian radio station Triple J’s 100 hottest songs of the past 20 years
“My Hometown” is a single by Bruce Springsteen off his Born in the U.S.A. album, that was the record-tying seventh and last top 10 single to come from it, peaking at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It also topped the U.S. adult contemporary chart, making the song Springsteen’s only #1 song on this chart to date. The song is a synthesizer-based, low-tempo number that features Springsteen on vocals.
“Home Sweet Home” is a power ballad by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. It was originally released in 1985 on the album Theatre of Pain, and again in 1991 for the Decade of Decadence compilation album. It has been recorded as a cover versionby several artists, and was released as a single by Carrie Underwood in 2009. The 1991 version had a new music video, different from the original version.
Along with “Wild Side“, “Home Sweet Home” is one of the rare Mötley Crüe hits to have Vince Neil credited with the songwriting, though he did play a part in writing many of their non-hit songs.
“Homeward Bound” is an American folk song written by Paul Simon, performed by Simon and Garfunkel, produced by Bob Johnston and recorded on December 14, 1965. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart on February 12, 1966, peaking at #5 and remained on the charts for 12 weeks. It describes Simon’s longing to return home to his then girlfriend, Kathy Chitty, who was in London. It is uncertain exactly where the song was written: in an interview with Paul Zollo for SongTalk Magazine, Art Garfunkel says that Simon wrote the song in a railway station “around Manchester” while in an earlier interview for Playboy Magazine Simon stated that the railway station was in Liverpool. It is likely, however, that it was written at Widnes railway station during a long wait for a train, when traveling back from Widnes, where he had been playing; a commemorative plaque is displayed on the wall of the Liverpool-bound waiting room
